One can never truly understand why another continues down a path that leads to destruction unless they had once made the choice to walk in that same direction themselves.
Life has no way to prepare us for the struggles we must face throughout our time. Some bear a hurt that cuts so deep, the scars never seem to fade. The Women’s Strength Page was created as a Safe Spot Community. In hopes that you are able to find the secure comfort that is needed to open up and speak freely about your own struggles. Take that first step to mend the wounds left behind. You are encouraged to share your own story, read others, offer advice and support through comments. Share your progreand over comings. Together we can learn and grow from our experiences, healing the damage done. Your life has always belonged to you. It is time to take it back. See your worth. Know that you have endured enough. From this moment on, this is your time. Find your peace peace in life
Each week I will share a piece of my own story. Very much ready to dive right in, I had to stop myself before making that jump. When you build something, you should start with a good solid foundation. The basics. My name is Lauren Brooks. I am a survivor of domestic violence. The life I knew had turned into one of those Lifetime Network movies. Not the kind that makes your eyes swell with tears of joy as the credits roll in. Everything that made me whole had been broken into pieces that the wind took away before they were able to hit the ground.
My passion to create this community was born in the darkest area in my life. Realizing that I was completely alone through my healing process became the light that pulled me out. I made the choice to take the bad in my life and use it for good. Never wanting anyone to feel the amount of hurt and pain this caused me, I began to build this safe spot. No one should have to do this alone.
Each blog will close with inspirational words of hope. Life is about perspective. I learned to view my struggles as lessons to be learned. My drive and determination is fueled by the anger, hurt, and pain I live with everyday. I set goals, then conquer them all. I have to prove it to myself that I can make it to that finish line. Today I can look at myself in the mirror, and I am so proud of who I have become. I have found peace and acceptance within myself. That is something most will never know in this lifetime. So stay strong. Keep fighting. Build better and stronger everyday. You will find your peace in life.
