From The Author

An apology was not the solid foundation I expected to start this on. For anyone who has visited this community before today, an apology is long overdue. Building this support group has been one of the most challenging goals I have faced thus far, especially during my darkest times. Hope is not the easiest thing to hold to. Sometimes I have to remind myself that some of life’s brightest lights find their shine in the darkest of places. For me , this community is that light. It’s about time to get this up and running. Let’s start posting and showing our support for others. Now is the time to bring this community to life.

Every week, From The Author, is where I will share a piece of my own story. It is from its close. I am a survivor of domestic violence. My story is something I share often with the hope of inspiring others. Taking it day by day, writing a new page as they pass. It has been six years since I began my own healing process. What I found is worth every struggle I had to face to make it this far. I found acceptance and peace within myself. Something most will never know in this life. Even at your weakest moments, pick yourself up and keep pushing forward. Always keep in mind that we all need to heal in our own way in our own time.

Thoughts Of Hope

Blessings In A Lunch Bag

Lake Panasoffkee FL. A small town in Central Florida that most can’t pronounce. If you squint your eyes and focus really hard, you may be able to find the speck on a map. This is where you can find an amazing couple who bring hope to others in a very peculiar way. A small table sits off to the side of the road, offering a few miscellaneous items and a healthy bagged lunch. All are welcome to see what sits on top. If you find something you need, there is no need to ask about the cost. All items are a blessing as they pass from one hand to the next. For those in need of a full belly, that bagged lunch is one of the best meals around. Not only does it calm an angry stomach, but it also warms the heart to know that someone does care. To some, this may not seem like much. To this small town, this small table can change lives. It gives people a warm shirt on cold nights. A meal to a person who hasn’t had one in days. This special place is one where you can go that is judgment-free. Where you find comfort, understanding, and compassion. Lake Panasoffkee is truly blessed to have what I like to call our true hometown heroes. Who could have imagined that so many lives could be changed one bagged lunch at a time?

Together we can forever change our tomorrow
